Originally posted April 10, 2014 –   The California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) has published two CEUs for Certified Interior Designers which can be taken online, for free.

One course is on nonstructural earthquake retrofitting and requires reading  the “Homeowners Guide to Nonstructural Retrofit” for 1 hour credit.

The other course is on CCIDC’s 2017 (changed from 2012) Sunset Review. CIDs learn about CCIDC’s history, board, committees, funding, the IDEX California exam and more for 1 hour credit.

Continuing education is a requirement for all current Certified Interior Designers. CIDs need 10 hours (which equals 1.0 Units) every two years.

Who is the original IDEX prep?

I have been asked, who is the original IDEXprep?

The short answer is, we are.

On February 14, 2009, IDEXprep.com was registered.
Four years later, on May 3, 2013, originalidexprep.com was registered
(see domain registration proof below)

Deni Mosser published the IDEXprep eGuide in March 2009. At that time,  there were no other IDEX-specific study materials, books or classes available on the market.

The IDEXprep eGuide helped IDEX candidates study for the very first IDEX California exam (given in May 2009).  The guide was published for 2-1/2 years (from March 2009 to September 2011).

In September 2011, Deni launched the IDEXprep Online Class which was, and remains to be, the first and best online class to prepare for the IDEX exam. With the eGuide and the online class, IDEXprep.com has been successfully preparing interior designers to pass the IDEX California exam 4 years before originalidexprep.com came into existence.

For the record, others who claim to be the original, simply are not.   

IDEXPREP.COM is the ORIGINAL IDEXprep class.

IDEXPREP.COM  is ” the ORIGINAL”  IDEXprep class.

FAQ How to Become a Certified Interior Designer

The California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) has three (3) paths that a designer can apply under (to become certified). Path 3 is their newest path, and it is available for candidates who passed one of the following examinations:

  • ARE
  • CQRID
  • NCBDC
  • NCIDQ
  • NKBA (CKD and CBD)
