“Certified Interior Designer” is a LEGAL TITLE\u00a0 and a professional appellation recognized by California law (Business & Professions Code 5800).\u00a0 No one else can use the title unless they have met the requirements of CCIDC<\/a> and have become a “Certified Interior Designer” .<\/p>\n

There is a big difference between Certified Interior Designers and those who are not certified.\u00a0 CIDs have proven credentials: education, experience and passage of an examination that covers Calif. Building Codes, Business Practices, Ethics and Design Standards.\u00a0 CIDs are held accountable by a code of ethics and they promote the health, safety and welfare of the public.<\/p>\n

CIDs receive a stamp with their name and certification number for their drawings and construction documents, identifying them as qualified professionals under California law.<\/p>\n

Certified Interior Designer stamp<\/p><\/div>\n

Certification by the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC)\u00a0 is the highest and the only legal credential an interior designer can have in the state of California.<\/p>\n

CCIDC’s Mission Statement<\/a> . . .<\/p>\n

“. . . is to establish and implement professional standards and educational requirements, educate the public, and facilitate interior design professional’s compliance with our standards and code of ethics in order to provide for the protection, health, safety and welfare of the public.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
