The value of certification for interior designers

Share

“Certified Interior Designer” is a LEGAL TITLE  and a professional appellation recognized by California law (Business & Professions Code 5800).  No one else can use the title unless they have met the requirements of CCIDC and have become a “Certified Interior Designer” .

There is a big difference between Certified Interior Designers and those who are not certified.  CIDs have proven credentials: education, experience and passage of an examination that covers Calif. Building Codes, Business Practices, Ethics and Design Standards.  CIDs are held accountable by a code of ethics and they promote the health, safety and welfare of the public.

CIDs receive a stamp with their name and certification number for their drawings and construction documents, identifying them as qualified professionals under California law.

CCIDC’s Mission Statement . . .
